Today at our church
we celebrated St.Francis of Assisi.
Father instituted the blessing of the pets
on this day, four or five years ago.
Every year we get more people
and a greater diversity of pets.
Today, the dogs ranged
from 12 weeks old Cocker Spaniels
to 6 year old Great Dane.
Cats of all ages, sizes and color.
We had a turtle, a guinea pig,
two parrots and a rabbit.
What a great day.
Young and old gather.
The fellowship and connection with other pet lovers
is as rewarding as the blessing itself.
We all received a medal to commemorate the occasion.
All left with a smile.............
